It’s often about the people we meet and whose company we enjoy that makes Harvest Host stays some of our favorites. Our time at the Coulter Farmstead was no exception. From the 50amp service to the breakfast delivered to our Airstream, our time at this little gem in Arkansas was fantastic.

The entire town of Washington, Arkansas, is a step back in history. Although we spent our time on the farmstead and did not get into the town, we definitely received a history lesson. Built in 1871, The Wolff General Store was brought piece by piece to the farmstead and now contains a wealth of treasures. We purchased some vanilla bourbon honey, coffee, and homemade frozen entrees. Additionally, we preordered breakfast from Brad, our host.

Our evening was spent wandering the farm and hearing the stories from Brad of the town folk and the farm’s history. We shared our time with other Harvest Host members sitting on the front porch in rocking chairs, enjoying the evening. Soon enough, the sun had set, and it was time for bed. Brad delivered our breakfast of cheese souffles, vanilla yogurt, and peach muffins in the morning. Everything was delicious.

I would recommend this stop along the way. Oh, and one more thing, the strange mud towers on the lawn are from crayfish! I had no idea there are a land type of crayfish.
