As my wife and I strolled hand in hand across the iconic Shelby Bridge, overlooking the glistening Cumberland River in Nashville, we knew we were in for a day of adventure and excitement. Our trip to Nashville had been long overdue, and we were determined to make the most of it. Little did we know that we were about to embark on a day filled with delicious food, great music, and unforgettable memories.
To start our day off right, we headed to Cafe Intermezzo for breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted us as we stepped into the cozy cafe. The menu was extensive, offering a wide range of options to satisfy our taste buds. From egg benedict to savory omelets, there was something for everyone. Mechelle settled on their famous smoked salmon eggs benedict and an americano, and I had the American Omlete with black coffee. We were not disappointed. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. The omelet was light and fluffy, and the rosemary potatoes were delicious. The coffee was aromatic and full-bodied, just the way we liked it. It was the ideal way to fuel ourselves for the adventures ahead.
Our next stop was the Goo Goo Chocolate Company, a Nashville institution famous for its Goo Goo clusters. As self-proclaimed chocoholics, my wife and I couldn’t resist the temptation of indulging in these sweet treats. The clusters were indeed amazing, with the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. We couldn’t resist buying a box of Goo Goo clusters to take home as souvenirs for our friends and family.
Next, we hopped on the Hop On Hop Off Nashville tour, which allowed us to explore the city at our own pace. The bus provided a fantastic view of Nashville’s landmarks, including the famous John Rich Redneck Riviera. This lively bar was a must-visit for music enthusiasts like us. We were treated to some foot-tapping live music as we sipped on refreshing cocktails and soaked in the vibrant atmosphere. It was a true Nashville experience that we would cherish forever.
As our stomachs started to rumble, we made our way to Party Foul in downtown Nashville for lunch. Known for its hot chicken and beignets, this trendy eatery did not disappoint. My wife chose the hot chicken with medium spice, while I was feeling adventurous and went for the “Nashville Hot” half bird with the poultrygeist super hot spice level. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a tantalizing heat that made our taste buds dance. The beignets were the perfect sweet treat to balance out the spiciness of the chicken. We savored every bite, indulging in the flavors of Nashville’s culinary scene. We ended the meal with banana pudding, allowing us to cross off another state dessert from our bucket list.
After lunch, we took a leisurely stroll back to our truck, reflecting on our amazing trip. Nashville exceeded our expectations in every way, with its vibrant music scene, delicious food, and friendly people. We couldn’t help but reminisce about the highlights of our day, from walking across the Shelby Bridge to enjoying breakfast at Cafe Intermezzo, indulging in Goo Goo clusters, experiencing the live music at John Rich Redneck Riviera, and savoring the hot chicken and beignets at Party Foul.
As we drove back home, we were grateful for the memories we had made on our visit to Nashville. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and adventure, and we couldn’t wait to plan our next trip back to this wonderful city. Nashville had captured our hearts, and we knew we would always treasure the memories of our unforgettable day exploring Tennessee’s music city!
