Located in White Sulphur Springs, Montana, this is by far one of our most favorite campgrounds. There is something resplendent in the simplicity and friendliness of small towns. We have stayed here three times so far, once in the fall and twice in the spring, so we can’t say if this place ever becomes busy as we are usually one of the first to arrive or last to leave. However, what I can say is the views are spectacular, and the bird song brings a sense of peace to one’s soul.
The owners are friendly and are diligent in taking care of the amenities. The bathrooms and laundry room are spotless. Because the campground is located at the edge of town, there is little traffic (not that White Sulphur Springs has much traffic). The utilities are in good working order, and they include water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electricity. For the kids, there is a playground, and they have free WiFi for checking email and social media (no streaming, please).
Our main reason for staying at this particular location is the proximity to Bozeman and Great Falls. Up until May of 2021, our youngest daughter was attending Montana State University. We are proud to say she graduated with her degree in physics, so our visits to Bozeman will be less frequent. My parents and sister live in Great Falls, which means we will be heading north for visits when in White Sulphur Springs.
I would love to share about hikes and adventures, but we have always been here to visit family. We also stay because it is a part of one of our campground memberships, and we receive a great rate. As we work during the week, we don’t get out much. If you work or need some great cellular speeds, this area is fantastic. Only Verizon is a bit slow, but that is usually the case in most places we visit (at least our West).
I would highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area. Conestoga Campground & RV Park is halfway between Glacier National Park and Yellowstone to make a great stopover.
